Geneva has the feel of a large city, despite its size. Located on the northern shores of Seneca Lake, in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, Geneva is approximately 50 miles from Rochester, Syracuse, and Ithaca. Voted All-America City 2015, Finger Lakes’ first recipient of this prestigious award presented by the National Civic League in the organization’s 122 year-long history. Downtown Geneva is home to dozens of restaurants and retail stores. Also, the National Park Service has recognized Geneva’s Downtown Historic District, a large swath of the central city, and includes several buildings that have been individually recognized, such as the Smith Opera House. The Beef and Brew
Downtown Geneva offers numerous taverns and restaurants, including The Beef and Brew located at 293 Main Street, Geneva. They were recently named one of the Top 10 Best NY Steak during Steak Month, for their NY Strip. New York Beef Council asked the simple question, “Who has the ‘Best NY Steak”? After many online nominations, votes and debate, the question was answered through the taste buds of consumers and the final tasting efforts of four judges from across the state.
