Geneva Business Improvement District Mission

The Geneva Business Improvement District (GBID) promotes an attractive and viable downtown, and manages an 18.5-acre designated area that is high-quality in appearance and design, maintaining a safe and attractive environment for property owners, business people, tenants, shoppers and visitors. We also plan and coordinate events, promote and market businesses, administer grants and provide support to merchants.

City of Geneva ~ Uniquely Urban

Geneva has the feel of a large city, despite its size. Located on the northern shores of Seneca Lake, in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, Geneva is approximately 50 miles from Rochester, Syracuse, and Ithaca. Geneva was voted “All-America City” in 2015, becoming the Finger Lakes’ first recipient in the 122-year history of this prestigious award presented by the National Civic League. The National Park Service also recognized Geneva’s Downtown Historic District, a large swath of the central city that includes several buildings individually recognized, such as the Smith Opera House.

Geneva is a beautiful, historic city to live, work, play and invest in, as evidenced by the 175 restaurants, retail stores, professional service providers and other businesses that call downtown home.
