The Geneva Business Improvement District (GBID) launched a comprehensive effort to help its members and the Geneva community respond to the economic impacts from the COVID-19 outbreak and “stay-at-home” order. The effort launched in early April with a member survey to understand the best way GBID could be of assistance. Sharing of information about government support was the top priority so GBID staff began collecting and sharing critical information with members, promoting open businesses and planning for future reopening.
A bi-weekly Zoom meeting was at the center of the effort with members sharing their needs and concerns, and learning from expert guest speakers. Featured guests included Jeff Friend (LNB), Suzanne Vary (Ontario County Economic Development) and Sage Gerling (City of Geneva).
And lastly, a special thank you to the City of Geneva who worked with us to produce “15-Minute Parking” signs that were distributed to open restaurants and bars. These signs ensure safe and efficient curbside service or to go order collection.
